Noir: Mirage Brian punishes Brandon for daring to make a clone of him, but things aren't as simple as they seem. Shades of gray.

A/N: Frustrated and left wanting someone he can never have, Brandon creates his own Brian he thinks to dominate, but something goes very wrong.

It's been a long time since I updated this. This ends the tiny narrative arc, but I will probably revisit when the mood strikes me. It was extremely difficult to find a resolution that I felt struck the right balance. And maybe offered a little hope for Brandon.

OMFG Portsmouth just won the FA cup.

In the Pacific Northwest, our summers don't typically start until July 5th (I'm not kidding). It's usually cool, grey and rainy in May and June, with hints of warmer weather every now and again. Well it's that time....Mother Nature is giving us one giant tease. It was in the high 70's with lots of sun and blue skies yesterday. It was glorious. Today is supposed to be in the 80's and I'd be looking forward to it more if I wasn't so sick.

Started coming down with it on Tuesday, and not it's just about full-blown in my chest. Coughing so much I'm pulling the muscles in my ribcage, and basically feeling like shit.

Work is still running me ragged and leaving me too drained to do anything much but email and a quick skim of my friends list. No writing or graphics...which sucks big time.

Hoping that with at bad as I'm feeling, I can at least get something accomplished besides the work I brought home from the office this weekend. Didn't get home from work last night til about 9 pm.

I need some good Spangel reading to make me feel better, but there doesn't seem to be much around that's new besides toobusy2write's new story, Subspace, which is turning out to be one hell of a story. Anyone got any suggestions that I may have missed for varios reasons?

I really am not the obsessive LJ user I used to be, when I would read, look at and comment to the stories and manips almost constantly. Then LJ (and fandom), was shiny and new, and became my main hobby. Could be any number of reasons for this I guess. The comics being one. Loving the Angel: After the Fall (and of course Spike is in that one), but hating the Buffy Season Eight doesn't help. Then that some of my favourite authors have either left fandom totally, or moved on.

The authors moving on is great, if I happen to be interested in the same fandom. But even then, no other fandom has quite captured me like the Buffy!Verse, and no other character is as close to my heart as Spike. So I may dip my toe in those fandoms, and read the odd story (with SPN mostly Gen or Crossovers), I do not see myself as getting a lot of new friends in the fandom. Same with Dr Who and Torchwood. So I guess that not only am I not as active in fandom, but not as active on LJ either. Guess for me the two went hand in hand.

David was supposed to be here today, but his brother is in the area, and his brother's knee is playing up. They are talking of doing a partial or full knee replacement if it gets more painful. Looks increasingly likely. This will be a blow for Tom, as he does a lot of driving as a solicitor, specialising in guns, mostly for gameskeepers at the estates. If he gets the knee replacement, he will be unable to drive for several months.

Right, so off to read some favourite fanfic from aforementioned authors, then see what happens on Dr Who tonight!

Shopping's done. Mum has been visited. Washing is done. Enchilladas are cooking. Beers are in the fridge and we're all ready to watch Portsmouth in the FA cup final. Play up Pompey. Pompey play up.

Also I've been thinking about stuff. Being far less invested in fandom is a good thing for me because I'm now far more invested in writing. Instead of being a one fandom whore with a desperate OTP I can now write het, femme, slash and gen in various worlds and I love that feeling. I like knowing that I have Pete Duel suicide fic on the go at the same time as Big Bang Theory Leonard/Sheldon first time.... and that at the same time as that I'm considering writing Top Gear Stig/Hammond kink for a ficathon.

Maybe one day I'll even find something original to write about.

To summarise, I love writing stuff. :D

Just watched tonights epi of BSG. I've been only half watching, but have them all on DVR. I kinda dont wanna have to watch them all to figure out WHAT THE HECK HAPPENED tonight?

Will someone enlighten me? Everything is confusing since I'm only half paying attention.

During all the strike weeks, when everything was on ice it seemed like Dollhouse was never going to happen and if, only in the far distant future. And now there's a trailer! Yay!

I can't say that I'm already in full squee mode over this, because for that I need plot, characters and dialog, but it looks pretty promising to me. Darkish, with a bit of "La femme Nikita" and a tad "Total recall" (the Dick story rather than the movie) and Eliza Dushku is gorgeous. I imagine it must be very cool for an actor to get a role like that where your personality changes every episode, while the character develops an underlying original self.

AJ McLean was awesome.
